Building homes and communities since 1975

SWAP, Inc. (Stop Wasting Abandoned Property) is a private non-profit community development corporation committed to providing affordable housing opportunities to persons of low and moderate income; revitalizing urban neighborhoods and building new communities.

We are a community based development corporation established in 1975 by a group of concerned residents troubled by the negative effects of blighted houses and vacant lots in their neighborhoods. The unrelenting commitment of the earliest members to neighborhoods and housing remains the core value of the organization today.

Led by a volunteer Board of Directors with distinctive experience and a professional staff, SWAP has been working with residents, businesses, neighbors and community partners to enhance and revitalize neighborhoods and provide affordable housing opportunities for 40 years.
