Apartments
From larger apartment complexes, to scattered-site preserved and renovated multi-family homes, SWAP develops and manages affordable apartments. Units are available in a variety of styles; from charming and unique spaces in renovated historic homes to newly constructed apartments.

Commercial / Mixed Use
SWAP is widely recognized for its focus on reenergizing commercial urban corridors that infuse services, create gathering spaces and provide access to public transportation. The mixed-use development, that also incorporates housing, builds cohesive neighborhoods. Commercial spaces are all first floor, highly visible and designed for retail, office or food service.

Build a Buyer is a consolidation of all of SWAP's financial literacy and resident advocacy programs. By developing a relationship with our customers through classes and individual counseling, SWAP is able to help individuals build their financial knowledge and capability. This personalized approach helps those who may have started out just looking for an affordable apartment become successful home buyers.
Annually, over 1,000 individuals and families of all sizes, income levels and needs visit the SWAP office looking for housing. Through our customized Intake System, we gather information on each visitor to establish a personal baseline of financial information.
SWAP Homebuyer Education
The SWAP 4-week homebuyer education course provides a comprehensive overview of the entire home buying process.
Homebuyer education provides participants with a thorough understanding of the home purchasing process, including an introduction to the mortgage process, understanding credit standards, conventional lending criteria and preparing for the loan closing. This is a HUD-approved 8 hour course.
Good Tenant Workshop
Topics covered are credit counseling, budgeting, tenant and landlord responsibilities, good neighbor strategies and fire safety. This workshop is for prospective residents of SWAP rental apartments who may need some time and help to work through credit issues needed to be eligible to rent an apartment. Counseling is provided in small groups and individually.
SWAP Individual Workout Program
Sometime people need a little more help to prepare for the purchase of their first house. SWAP is a HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agency.
SWAP’s Individual Workout (IWO) Program begins with one-on-one financial coaching and credit counseling. This program helps interested buyers overcome barriers to acheiving their dream of homeownership.
SWAP Landlord/Tenant Education
This 3-hour course is designed to prepare homebuyers seeking to purchase a multi-family home. Subjects covered include the challenges of becoming a property owner, understanding landlord responsibilities, how to prepare a lease agreement and understanding tenant rights. Counseling is provided in small groups and individually.
